Stellar Synergy

JAN 2024 - APR 2024

Genres: 2D Platforming, Co-op, Difficult

Roles: Scenario planner, environmental programming, NPC programming

Stellar Synergy has been a collaborative project between Osamudiamen Adun, Stefan D'Ippolito, Rebecca De Venezia, Jayden Ting and myself for the class CISC 496.

The game is a collaborative 2D platformer that uniquely tests players' communicative and teamwork abilities. Teams of two players control the same mech as they traverse hostile alien landscapes filled with tricky terrain and enemies. Actions that the mech can perform are split between both players, making even the most basic actions difficult with poor communication. Additionally, the game is controlled using the players' phones by connecting to a localized server. For more details, click here.

The demo version of the game has received universal praise and positive feedback from our teacher and peers. At the school's annual Creative Computing Showcase, sponsored by Electronic Arts (EA) Inc., the project was given the Best Videogame Award from the department's faculty. Since then, it has been displayed at the CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) and used as an example of innovation in the following year's class

Escape from Underworld

JAN 2021 - APR 2021

Escape from Underworld was been a collaborative project between Ethan Lemieux, Ahsan Irfan, and myself for the class CISC 226. I acted as the primary C# programmer and project management lead, assisting with level design and worldbuilding as well.

The game is a 2D platformer in which the player takes control of a young man named Heron who was wrongfully taken to the Underworld. Heron must learn how to navigate through the depths of the abyss and find the path leading back to the world of the living. However, Heron will quickly realize he is not equipped to traverse this hellish landscape. He must explore to find ancient relics dropped by the gods to gain abilities in order to escape!

Game Jam Projects

Inner Growth

JAN 2025

Genre: 3D Combat, Isometric

Roles: Programming (gameplay, UI, menus), game designer, musician
Created for TMU's 2025 Game Jam (January 17-19, 2025)
Other members: Darragh Sawyer, Freddy Koehlmann, Serena Fonseca, Seth Britton

An isometric combat game that puts the player in control of a space soldier tasked with eliminating a group of hostile alien lifeforms. The protagonist has been injected with a symbiotic lifeform that enhances his strength at the price of granting the creature more influence over his body. Using the symbiote's abilities, the player slashes and claws through opposition while constantly keeping the creature within at bay...or else it will consume them from the inside!

Judges and other participants of the contest praised the game's morbid but compelling battle system and the natural offensive/defensive flow the system created.

Can be played on the game's itch.io page.
