Social Media & Marketing

In addition to programming and game design, I have continuously improved my abilities in social media management and marketing. I have held several marketing positions that involved creating public updates, statements, and graphics on behalf of large groups. In my free time, I enjoy sharing memes on personal and comedic accounts.

Due to dissatisfaction with the corporate decisions made by Facebook and X, I have stopped posting to my personal accounts. At present, I only engage with social media through corporate and comedic accounts.

Professional accounts

World Community Grid

During my time as a communications intern at World Community Grid, I was engaged in multiple aspects of the company's marketing process. As the company was undergoing a transitionary period, I would frequently post updates about the state of the system to their X and Facebook pages, as well as their website's public forum. When concerned users sent emails to the group's email, I would answer their questions in a polite and informative manner.

I co-wrote dozens of articles featuring news about the state of the platform and research updates from partner projects. I was fortunate enough to share the stories of two schools that incorporated grid computing into their curriculum.

Displayed below are examples of social media posts that I created:

Queen's Fighting Game Club

During my fifth year at Queen's University, I acted as the marketing and social media manager of the school's fighting game club. Through announcements on the club's Discord server and Instagram account, I would share news of upcoming events and club news. To spread the word about the Instagram account, I contacted other Queen's-based organizations that were gracious enough to promote our page. Additionally, I would occasionally post comedic photos and memes to keep the community engaged during times with sparse news.

Displayed below are examples of social media posts that I created:

Down There

I served as the marketing executive for a Queen’s-based organization that conducts an annual show featuring students who write and act out their own routines. Managed multiple social media accounts, answered questions from interested viewers via the social media platforms, and arranged important events.

Displayed below are examples of advertisements I created for the production.

Farco Entertainment

During my first semester of grade 11, I completed a co-op placement at Farco Entertainment. Responsibilities for this position included creating and distributing ads and flyers for various events and individual performers. In one instance, I booked the televised appearance of an agent on the Canadian children's network YTV. As a result of my internship, I improved my telephone communication skills through daily communications with clients and learned about the inner workings of the entertainment industry.
